Last night my neighbor and I headed out to Cooper River Park after Sunset. There, on a bridge which crosses the lazy river, we had a brilliant view of Center City Philadelphia ¹. We’ve visited the location once before, and have been meaning to go back, but this was the first opportunity we’ve had since our last trip.

I was hoping for less clouds in the sky, but around sunset a thick cloud bank rolled in and transformed the colorful late afternoon into a drab grey. Still, the cluster of buildings which make up Center City were clear and we managed to get some good shots. My favorite is below.

Just as I was about to pack up I noticed my neighbor had turned his camera to capture some light trails, and I joined him. I managed to capture several decent photos. None of these was as mystifying as the image below, which captures a New Jersey Transit as it crossed the bridge.

It was a good way to spend the evening as the Summer vacation season comes to an end.
