Summertime
Central is, perhaps, the best congregation I’ve ever been a part of in terms of Summer attendance. Still, there are weeks where I think the only thing missing is a tumbleweed.
Color
Many people are locked in an either/or mindset regarding the world. No matter the situation, their side is “good” and everyone else is “bad.” Others are at least able to see the world in shades of grey, so the other side is elevated to “misguided.” I prefer to see how people with whom I disagree…
Worship
Christian worship is about honoring the Triune God and celebrating the work of Jesus. When we replace that with ANYTHING we do it to our peril.
Paying Attention
Disagreeing with someone is perfectly fine. Disagreeing with someone because you’ve inserted your own thoughts into someone’s argument, when you should have been listening, is unacceptable. I’ve done this. Let’s be honest, we all have.
Choices
Sometimes the best choice in a debate about which side of the political spectrum should wield power isn’t one that’s offered by this world.
