Let me be clear, I do not resonate with Glenn Beck’s message. His take on American history is misguided at best, and his usurping of revival language grieves me greatly (even more so the complete lack of understanding so many Christians have about why his seizure of the language is wrong). I have no problem with people stating why they support or are unnerved by Mr. Beck’s crusade. Yet, I’m equally worn out by:
- People who think that criticizing Glenn Beck shows that you have no “common sense.”
- People who think that “counter-rallies” offer a compelling counter to his rhetoric.
- The “Evangelical Left” for going out of their way to make Glenn Beck public enemy #1 as a means of soliciting greater donations (yes, I’m looking at you Sojourners).
It amazes me how quickly we all lose track of what our purpose is – the worship of Jesus and the ministry of his Kingdom in this world. It’s like the only thing the culture warriors agree on is that anyone who doesn’t take part in the battle is “the enemy.”

I really couldn’t agree more.
Me, too; Wes is totally a heretic for suggesting such a thing. 😉
