Pastoring is a 24/7 gig. This doesn’t always mean that you’re constantly being called for things, but it does mean that your mind/heart never stop pondering the state of the congregation you’ve been called to.

I typically hate prayer circles, as folks fall so easily into the “well I’ll pray better than that” trap. My experience of prayer circles any more is an extended blast of religious white noise, which sets my spirit on edge.

Why I’m a Christian

When I was a Junior in college I remember collapsing into a chair in a professor’s office. I’d just had an encounter with the type of anti-intellectual attitude which would eventually drive me from Evangelicalism, but at the time it was like be blindsided.

Days Gone Bye

When I was called to the pastorate I felt I was prepared for a number of tasks and roles a pastor was expected to fill. What I was not prepared for was the deep sense of loss pastors inevitably feel.
