On Saturday we took our Son, who has occular albanism, to a holiday party sponsored by The Little Rock Foundation. We’d never heard about this group, but after attending their party I’m very impressed!
The foundation is named after one of the founder’s sons, who is an impressive and well-spoken young man who has centered his life around raising awareness for the special challenges of educating visually impaired chilren. I don’t believe he’s even 15 and he’s already testified in front of congress! Anyway, it’s a great story of embracing one’s personally challenges without being defined by them. As the parent of a child who is visually impared, I am grateful for their work.
