I have Christian friends from all over the political spectrum. Most are happy to discuss differences and respect each other, some are more interested in making sure people know that they are right. The reality is that we have much to learn from each other in the tension between our beliefs of what the world should be, and God’s. This brings me back to Jesus in the wilderness who, when stretched between the designs common to this world and his Father’s will, managed to resist temptation. We’re all called to have our lives painted purple in some way.
