Covering Up

As many readers of Painfully Hopeful know, I’ve been writing a serialized novel on Tuesdays entitled Welcome to the Valleys. It’s been a whole lot of fun to do, and weeks ago it became the longest work of fiction I’ve ever written – and I’m only in Chapter 3!

To better organize the project I soon imported the writings into Scrivener, which is where they have resided ever since. The funny thing about Scrivener, however, is how it’s great for making eBooks. So, I’ve been compiling the work in progress into an ePub from time to time and sharing them with folks.

Ebooks, however, need a cover to look right in the reader. So I created one, it’s below. This is actually an image from the rim of Crater Lake, one of the most fantastic places I have even set my eyes upon. It’s not flashy, and it certainly not a “final” product, but there’s still something nicely ethereal about it. Hope you like it.
