Palmyra Nature Cove is one of those hidden gems in which I don’t spend enough time. I’ve been attempting to rectify this, which led to my longest excursion in its boundaries in my fourteens years here.

The weather was so beautiful on Sunday I decided to venture out even though I was suffering post-worship exhaustion and battling allergies. I went out with my wife and son, and we headed almost to far end of the park. There, on the other side of the outlet for the freshwater tidal pool from which the park derives its name, I found this amazing boardwalk. It passes through strands of tall grass, and appears almost under siege by the creeping vegetation. It feels like a portal to another realm.
