Oh, hey!

Yesterday morning I went out on a morning photowalk and discovered a locale I’d not before noticed. On Main Street in Riverton is a home with the yard elevated several feet above street level by use of a retaining wall. This allowed me to get near ground level without having to crouch down very much. The Sun was at a perfect angle to capture the area and several birds and squirrels were frolicking in the morning warmth.

Of particular interest was the squirrel depicted below, which paused to glance my way any time I shuffled. On one such occasion he took the upright stance shown in the photo and paused while I triggered my lens.

I think it might be my favorite wildlife image I’ve ever taken.
