Thursday night my son called me into his room and asked, “Dad, are the Eagles good?”
I grunted and muttered, “No, not at all.”
Then he paused for a moment and posed a second question, “Well, are the Ravens good?”
I grunted again an muttered, “Better than the Eagles this year 1.”
I though this was a strange line of questioning so I added, “Why are you asking?”
He looked up from his tablet and said, “Well, the ravens helped the dwarves, so I figured they had to be good. But so did the Eagles.”
“Wait, you were talking about The Hobbit?”
He nodded in agreement. “Yah, what were you talking about?”
I shook my head, “Never mind. Let’s back up, the Eagles are good….”
Context is everything.
- I have checked the standings and I realized the Ravens were a mess this season. ↩
