Today my son and I traveled to Morris Arboretum to take some pictures. Despite having grown up near the site, this marked my first visit. I’ve no idea why I waited so long.
The image below is from a tribute etched into a chair set out on the property. It struck me as interesting for several reasons. First, the words look fantastic etched into the worn grain of the word. Second, I find the expressed sentiment to be beautiful. Third, the presence of the moss obfuscating some of the letters is striking. Even our most beautiful and noble tributes will eventually fade.
