In Plain Sight

I took Bump on a walk to a pastoral visit on Thursday 1 and because I was trying to keep the Sun out of the baby’s eyes I ended up taking a rather circuitous route. This led me to a rather interesting discovery.

On a street several blocks from my home, hidden in plain sight, is an old barn. I have vague memories of noticing this structure prior to Thursday, but I’ve never really seen it. It became a wonderful photo opportunity, and I may have to head back there at some point to capture more angles 2. I’d love to figure out this history of the structure, it just seems so out of place in the middle of town.

  1. Taking an infant on a pastoral visit is cheating, but it got him out of the house and my wife a baby-free hour or so.
  2. One is limited in how long one can stop and capture different angles of a structure when there is a fussy baby who wants to move in the stroller.
