Yesterday I wrote my sermon, finished up some projects I needed to get done, and hopped on a train with my wife to see the Tall Ships come up the Delaware. It was a fantastic time. I didn’t get to stay for the entire parade, and am bummed by what I had to miss, but the ships I saw come in were truly magnificent. There is something awe-inspiring about seeing a such large vessels moving against the current at speed, canvas full of wind.

Tomorrow afternoon (after complete my pastoral tasks for the day) our whole family will head down to tour some ships and take in the wonderful atmosphere ¹.
