Gone Fishing

on

As we were forecasted to get rain on Saturday evening I opted to take Bump for a walk in the morning hours. It’s fun to see how Bank Avenue has different vibes throughout the day, and this morning the vibe was fishing.

Some of my fondest memories growing up are tied to going fishing with my Pop Pop. We caught something on rare occasions, but that wasn’t the point. The point was the ritual of waking up, taking out the boat, and rummaging through our tackle boxes as we prepared for another day of bobbing on the water.

Seeing folks lined up along the river brought back a lot of memories. To me, the photo below is the most iconic. The man’s fishing pole is extended out toward the water as he dozes in a chair waiting for a “nibble 1.” And the Riverton Boat House is a perfect backdrop.

As I developed the photo in Lightroom I discovered there was a spec of dust on my sensor. Lightroom CC doesn’t have a spot remover, but Affinity Photo took take of that without having to leave my iPad. Very cool. Also, I need to learn how to clean a mirrorless sensor – so fun times are ahead 2!
