Life Storm

Perfect storm of life
Allergies and Holy Week
Daylight Savings Time

Allergy season is upon us, and it couldn’t come at a worse time. During allergy season mental distractions become so acute my body tends to respond to them by either barking out in anger or running into a quite room to rock back and forth 1. Really, when allergy season hits I should be removed from normal life and set in a quiet room with no loud noises and less demands on my mental focus 2. Unfortunately, it would be irresponsible to check out from my family, church, ABCNJ, and friends for a month. So I have to try to manage.

When both daylight savings and Holy Week occur in the midst of the allergy explosion, however, it’s all I can do to keep from screaming at the world to shut up and leave me alone.

I may not be at my best, but by the grace of God I’m coping. Given the suffering other people in the world face this really isn’t a huge burden. Soon, it will pass.

  1. More than normal.
  2. Most people think these reactions are due to the medications I must take. They are not, this is the impact of the allergies themselves.
