Foreboding Horizon

Sometimes, you end up in the right spot at the perfect moment. That’s how I see this photograph of the Governor’s Palace in Colonial Williamsburg. The clouds in the background are foreboding, while the green leaves of the trees continue to reflect the rays of the sunlight pouring over my shoulder. The structure is also aglow with these rays, creating even more contrast with the distant clouds.

If you are a photographer who has any appreciation for history, I can’t think of many better places to take a camera.
