A Week in Music – “This is Me” and “How Far I’ll Go”

I know many writers enjoy immersing themselves in music as they write, but listening to music has never been a way for me to find that metal space where my words pour from my mind and through the keyboard into my work. It’s not because I don’t enjoy music, it’s that I enjoy it too much. When a song comes on which touches my soul I feel compelled to stop everything and just be. And, if the song is anywhere near my vocal range, I need to sing.

I captured this photo on last night’s photo walk. I love tandem bicycles, and this made such a foreground on a beautiful evening.

Summer View

I may not like the beach itself, but the *sight* of it causes me to sigh with contentment.

Introspection and Worship

I have heard a growing choir of people over the years who are singing a tune which troubles me, “Why do we spend so much time on worship, when what’s really important is putting our faith into action?”

Vulnerability

Good writers are able to able to make even pain beautiful, because they are able to show how pain can lead to growth.
