A Scene in Old City

on

My wife and I headed into Philadelphia this week to celebrate our anniversary with a lunch at City Tavern. It was a great lunch, and it also marked Bump’s first trip into Philly! I love Old City. The combination of high end restaurants, mom and pop shops, old architecture, and historical sites is my ideal environment.

As we were making our way back to our car, I was struck by the scene below. I’d noticed several Vespas making there way through the streets as we wandered the neighborhood, and this particular scooter was parked in a wonderful setting. The combination of the Italian scooter against a stunning backdrop give this image an almost European feel. I developed it to make the colors pop, bringing up the contrast and increasing the black level, it makes the bricks in the background structure stand out. I would have liked to get back just a bit more to bring the whole scooter into frame, but my wife was already looking at me funny.
