I took the photo embedded below on our Monday excursion to the Strasburg Railroad. The station house was such an iconic image I knew I needed to frame it for posterity. Yesterday I discovered just how iconic it is.
The structure which now stands at the East Strasburg station was originally in East Petersburg, PA, and had been constructed in the 1800’s. When the structure had been decommissioned as a stop on the main line, Strasburg purchased the building and had it moved to its present location. So it’s not a reconstruction of a bygone era, it’s part of the bygone era.
Kind of cool.
