I think I will setting on Wednesday’s being “random thoughts” days for a bit. These are (mostly) unconnected thoughts, offered with no explanation. It is much more difficult to do than you might think!

1. I feel like when I say “now I’ve seen everything” the universe replies, “Hold my beer.”
2. I find it interesting that my first two “random thoughts” posts have both begun with points involving beer.
3. I got married in 1997. I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.
4. My brain always explodes when people I know from different points of my life turn out to have known each other longer than I have known either of them.
5. I’m kind of a functioning train wreck.
6. The spiritual discipline I both most appreciate, and don’t practice enough, is silence.
7. Migraines suck.
8. I just finished Song of the Sirin. It’s really good.
9. I am resigned that I will never be a “successful” pastor.
10. The moment when your toddler screams, “Daddy!” while running at you the way a linebacker tracks a runner, is pure joy.
11. It also hurts.
