Random Thoughts #61

on

It’s a day for meandering down my neural pathways. Wednesday random thoughts!

  1. My Monday gaming session can be summed up with the phrase, “Well, that escalated quickly.”
  2. Go to move for the Texas Governor–screw something up so bad that no one likes him, so he deflects that anger toward something else people are upset about. Only, this time it could slow down the pandemic recovery for the entire country.
  3. Does anyone else feel a bit insecure when someone expresses a high opinion of you? It evokes a bit of panic in me, to tell the truth.
  4. My wife got her second shot yesterday. I am relieved.
  5. Seriously, at the start of the night the Monday murder hobos rolled so well on their stealth checks they sauntered though a swamp without disturbing a single monster. Then spent the rest of the night failing persuasion checks and triggering attacks 1.
  6. It’s a terrible feeling when you forget to start the timer after you pour the water on your coffee grounds.
  7. My favorite time of day is early morning when no one is up, and the only sounds I hear are the heater kicking on and the kitchen clock ticking.
  8. There is nothing in the world like a Philly Soft Pretzel.
  9. My Lenten discipline is working out rather well, thus far. My brain enjoys being creative this early in the morning 2.
  10. I’m really looking forward to hanging out with my neighbors in person soon.
  11. I’ve noticed that I’ve changed the question I ask people. It used to be, “How are you holding up?” Now it’s either, “Did you get an appointment?” or “Did you get your shot?” There’s light at the end of the tunnel.

  1. Though I will give them props for creativity regarding the whole, “Hi, we’re here to tell you about the light” moment. That was…unexpected.
  2. And I kept the discipline last Friday even though I knew the Wandavision finale had dropped.
