On Wednesdays I open up the swirling mist of my brain and inflict psychic damage on those unfortunates with whom it comes into contact. These are random thoughts.
- I enjoy writing at my treadmill desk 1.
- Kinda down on D&D 5th Edition combat lately. It’s just way too hard to find a sweet spot between a cake walk and trying to kill the party. And every time I think I’ve found it, the party pulls out some new shiny that blows it all up.
- The current Russian government folks all sound like abusers trying to make themselves seem like they’re the good guys.
- Heading to 70 on March 16. I will take this.
- The Russian government thinks Tucker Carlson is a Russian asset.
- The US Senate 2 has voted to make Daylight Savings a permanent thing, starting in 2023. I’d much rather us stick with the rest of the freaking world and keep standard time, but at least the clock switching stupidity will be done.
- I like Star Trek Discovery, but I think the “let’s do one huge narrative” practice is hurting it. A lot. I still don’t know half the bridge crew’s names because they’re just not given personalities beyond their duties.
- After my 5e campaign ends 3 I may try to run a Castles & Crusades campaign. I’m not thrilled with the title, but it’s a hobbyest homage. There are things which intrigue me about it, so it might be fun for a six month campaign.
- Baseball is back, great. There is a universal DH, so now what’s left of bench strategy is gone. Sigh. This makes sense for the player’s association—but I still get the feeling all the people running MLB hate their own sport.
- Alternatively, after my current campaign ends, I may just want to be a Player Character in a 5e campaign, and enjoy the awesomeness of the power creep from that side of the DM screen 4.
- There is a special place in hell for someone who orders shelling a maternity hospital.
