Peace, Joy, Love

I’ve photographed this group of lights before, but never at night. As I’ve become more and more comfortable with low-light photography I found myself drawn to see if I’d be able to capture the display in a compelling way.

When I went out on this particular photowalk I determined I’d do my best to isolate the lights from their environment as much as possible. So I shot with a higher ISO than usual, opened my aperture as wide as I was able, and used a fast shutter speed.

The results are on display in this photograph. While there are hints of the structure which supports these signs, it manages to give the sense these works are just floating in space. It just what I was looking to do.
