One of the more gratifying aspects of running a campaign has been getting my wife to play as a cleric in our neighbors group . She’s a pretty good role player, and caught on to the improvisational nature of tabletop role playing games right away. Which leads to moments when the unexpected happens.
Such as the time she got annoyed with how an encounter was progressing and, deciding to take matters into her own hands, declaring, “I’ve had enough of this. Can I just shoot him with my crossbow?”
What happened next is Howlmark history.
