Random Thoughts #107

on

On Wednesdays I like to use what’s left of my Covid-land mental capacity to unleash the full force of my jittery brain on to an unsuspecting world. These are random thoughts.

  1. I feel like Billy Joel needs to release an updated version of “We Didn’t Start the Fire.”
  2. I don’t understand the whole “if we know who to blame, it’ll all go away” conservative reaction to the pandemic 1.
  3. Joel Embid is the only light in a dismal Philly sports scene. And I’m not even a basketball fan.
  4. Does anyone even care that the Winter Olympics are happening next month?
  5. Members of the Monday Murder Hobos are considering tying up the Paladin and leaving him behind. He’s a tad unhinged.
  6. Current stress level, on a scale of 1 to 10, is 4357.
  7. Dear “church institutes,” denominational entities, and “celebrity pastors.” I don’t want your books, webinars, and “quick tip” lists. If you want to actually help, figure out a way to fund sabbaticals for all the pastors who have wrestled with ministry through this nightmare. Barring that, please just stop talking. You aren’t helping 2.
  8. The middle school drama never ends, does it?
  9. The sound of my hand grinder crushing coffee beans is the sound of my morning.
  10. I’ve wanted to write the past couple of weeks. That’s felt nice.
  11. I just picked up Hero Kids RPG to try playing with Bump. We’ll see how that works out.

  1. Or maybe I do, it’s a very magical worldview.
  2. I’m a tad annoyed at the moment.
